Ram Gopal Varma must have learned that by now. According to sources, the filmmaker approached the sexy actress for a lead role in his next venture starring Amitabh Bachchan, but the Mallika turned it down. Reason? She did not find the role substantial enough! With a project like Hissss, by renowned Hollywood director Jennifer Lynch, and after winning the 2008 Renaissance Artist Award, Mallika doesn’t want to settle for anything less, even it means losing the opportunity of working opposite Amitabh Bachchan.

Dasavatharam Preview in Chennai

As there is no premiere of Dasavatharam in Chennai, Kamal Haasan held a sneak peek of his film for his friends and a few celebrities from the industry on Tuesday evening at Four Frames preview theatre in Chennai. Kamal's mentor, K Balachandar and superstar Rajinikanth was the cynosure of all eyes.

Daughter Sruthi Haasan and her friends were also seen at the theatre. The talented daughter of the legend, is not one to rest on her father's laurels and will soon be seen in Soham Shah's Luck, opposite Aamir Khan's nephew Imraan Khan.

Among those present were Surya and a few other close friends of the actor. Meanwhile, due to the hype and hoopla surrounding the film, there has been brisk booking in all the 17 screens in Chennai. Asin Thottumkal appears in a dual role and Mallika Sherawat also plays lead role in the film. Venu Ravichandran, the producer and primary distributor, made the film with a budget of 140 crore Indian rupees.

Complaint againt Mallika Sherawat

S R Kaniraj, the Chennai secretary of the Hindu Makkal Kachi, has filed a compliant against the actress for wearing a revealing dress at the function.
According to the complainant, the actress, by wearing a mini skirt and exposing her back, had caused 'mental agony to the people of Tamil Nadu.'

He also complained that by sitting cross legged on the dais where the Chief Minister was also seated, she 'had not only behaved disrespectfully but had also conducted herself indecently.'

Shriya had earlier borne the brunt of such moral policing when she appeared in a short dress at a Sivaji function. Shriya Saran later tendered an apology for her dress.


The dias saw some of the biggest stars on it, including Jackie Chan, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Mammootty, Hema Malini, Jayapradha, Asin, Mallika Sherawat, Vijay, K S Ravi Kumar and the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi.

High Security for Mallika Sherawat

Shooting with a sexy siren on the streets is a very difficult task. And things only only get more difficult if the actor happens to be as hot as Mallika Sherawat. Ask producer Ratan Jain.

Mallika Sherawat and Rahul Bose were shooting a romantic scene for Maan Gaye Mughal-E-Azam on the streets of Pondicherry when the crowds refused to let Mallika shoot in peace. “It almost became impossible to shoot the scenes with Mallika, who was being mobbed by all her fans. No matter what the film’s unit did to keep the crowd away, Mallika’s fans just refused to let her shoot as they wanted to take a close look at her,” said a unit member from the sets of Maan Gaye Mughal-E-Azam.

Finally, producer Ratan Jain ended up hiring almost 100 security guards to protect Mallika and keep the crowd away. Raan Jain confirmed and said, “Yes, it was a pretty critical situation as we were responsible for Mallika’s safety. We did hire 100 security guards from a local agency to protect her.”

The ad is picturised on a song where Mallika Sherawat will be seen sensuously inviting all to be intoxicated with her, with the music and her dances.
